KSEBL faces the following two issues in the manual meter reading taken through meter readers.
1. A Meter Reader has to visit the premises - time-consuming & expensive.
2. He/she has to enter the meter reading into the POS machine - the possibility of error.
The above process is time-consuming and costly because bills are generated only once every two months. This is causing an additional burden to small families who have small monthly budgets. They are forced to pay the bills for two months together and there have been several requests to implement monthly billing, which may incur additional costs.
